Before looking after your pet(s) or home, we will book an introductory meet and greet session where we can get together to discuss the services you need and to make sure your pet(s) get along with us and to establish that comfort level with them and yourself. We will take notes on all instructions and go through some paperwork with you. We usually allocate a good 45 minutes for this meet and greet. Pet Sitting: We provide daily visits in your home to look after your pet(s) while you are away. We prefer to come in every day as so much potentially can happen in longer durations, but in certain situations, we will visit every other day. For dog vacation visits, we do stress the importance of at least 3 visits per day. Pet sitting services include: See house sitting services for additional services included with pet sitting. We provide you a log at each visit containing brief notes on what happened while we were there and indicating how your pet(s) are doing. Please see our rates page for pricing. Dog Walking: At the present time, we provide an individual/family private dog walking service. Group walks may be offered at a later date. Dog walking occurs in your neighbourhood and along a familiar route to the dog(s). If possible during the meet and greet, we recommend a trial walk be done so we can get an idea of the dog(s) characteristics and behaviour. We will take your advice for walking in extreme weather, but generally we may shorten the walk in extreme heat/humidity or cold. Please see our rates page for pricing. Most homeowners don’t realize that having their home empty for any lengthy period of time may be in violation of their house insurance policy. We highly recommend that you contact your insurance provider to find out the minimum amount of time between visits. We generally advise every second day visits are best due to mail/newspaper accumulation at your front door. House sitting services include watering indoor/outdoor plants. Extra charges may apply depending on quantity and estimated time involved. We do a minor security check of your home. We will adjust curtains and/or blinds; bring in mail, flyers and newspapers; randomly alter lighting (we do recommend having timers on your lights/radio/tv). During the winter months, we will try our best to make a walkable path to the door and clear any light snow, however, it is recommended that an alternate solution be made in case of heavy snowfall or to clear your entire driveway. We will drive up and down your driveway, making visible tracks, depending on how much snow there is. All this gives your home a lived in look from the outside, making your house a deterrent for potential burglars. It is also advised, if possible, to inform a close neighbour that you know that we will be there during the time you are away. Please see our rates page for pricing. |
